Biography

Selected as one of 20 most anticipated young Sinophone novelists in the Taiwanese magazine UNITAS in 2020, Chiang Hiu-mei graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with a bachelor’s degree in Chinese language and literature and a master’s degree in intercultural studies. Her works include novels Fate Behind The Name, Heart Stranding, film-adapted novel Beyond the Dream; short stories A Flour Rain in the Hot Summer, Disgusting Face and Red House, Torture, Departure; a serialised short story Got Got, the Wild Boar, and articles at “P-articles”. She was the playwright for POP Theatre’s children theatre Chirping, and wrote The Silverfish under Playwrights Incubator organised by the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre.
