Alonso Gonzalez

Hong Kong-based drummer, percussionist, composer, producer and arranger Alonso Gonzalez was born in Cartagena, Colombia, and studied with the legendary percussionist family “Los Pintos”. Perfecting his technique and sound over years of performing on stage and in recording studios, Gonzalez has made a name for himself on the Southeast Asia music scene, establishing the Alonso Gonzalez Latin Jazz Quintet in Kuala Lumpur in 2005, and releasing the album La compostura the same year. In 2020 Gonzalez released the Latin jazz influenced album Descarga Pa’ mi,  blending contemporary and experimental Latin rhythms with jazz harmonies and melodies. His latest production Mr Fool was released in 2022.
