For the second consecutive year, West Kowloon has received a Gold Award in the Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme for our efforts in adopting accessible design in our website. The initiative, organised by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) and the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC), encourages web and app design that is inclusive and user-friendly for all ability groups. We also received a Silver Award in the non-commercial category of the Best .hk Website Awards for outstanding performance in 2015. The award presentations took place on 19 and 21 April.
The West Kowloon website, www.westkowloon.hk, continues to be an important channel for communication. It plays an integral role in keeping the public up to date with our latest programmes and developments, and is the destination site for over 90,000 e-subscribers and many social media users. It is also the main promotional platform for M+ programmes and our performing arts events; an online display of works in the M+ collection; the source of updates on construction progress; and the online resource on our governance, project master plan, tenders and recruitment. Created to international standards, our responsive, accessible website is supported by a versatile content management system designed to grow with the project. West Kowloon will continue to explore innovative ways to reach new audiences using cutting-edge digital technology.
