Description
This free, behind-the-scenes session provides insight into the artistic creative processes involved in the full-scale audio-visual performance The Travellers and The Listeners. Through discussion, video presentation and live demonstrations, the session offers secondary and tertiary students the chance to engage with the TechBox team, and learn about the inspiration behind the project.
The Travellers and The Listeners is a poetic exploration of media art experimentation, incorporating immersive soundscape, live and recorded moving image, and performance. Produced as part of our ongoing TechBox programme, the project is collaboratively created by cross-disciplinary artist Samson Young and the TechBox team – members of West Kowloon’s Technical and Production team, and faculty members, students and alumni from the School of Theatre and Entertainment Arts at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
For a more complete understanding of the creation process and performance experience, participants are encouraged to attend The Travellers and The Listeners before or after this session (Freespace, 17, 21–23 July).
This event is co-presented and co-produced by WestK and the School of Theatre and Entertainment Arts, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
